About EFM

  • What is Éire Fir Mná?

Éire Fir Mná is a voluntary Business and Social group, the objective of which is to promote, support and partake in all things Irish through business and social interaction.

Being a member of EFM is about being proud of our Irish culture and heritage, our national symbols, language, history and present day Irish life.

For years, the wearing or flying of the Irish Flag or other Irish symbols has been strictly reserved for the International Rugby and Soccer Matches, St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations or products for foreign tourists. Due largely to our political history the brandishing of our National emblems has often led to labelling of Paramilitary association. When one travels to the UK, Wales, Scotland, USA or many parts of the world their National Flags are in your face with no connotations. Every time you see the US President on TV he is wearing the US Flag on his jacket, how often do you see our Taoiseach wearing any symbol of Ireland on his person?

  • Fly the Flag with Pride.....

One of the main aims of EFM is to promote the images of Ireland in a positive manner, the Irish Flag, Shamrock, Harp and even the old Irish images that attribute a fun side to our personalities the Leprechaun, the Shillelagh, our Art and all positive associations with the Emerald Isle.

  • Speak a Little Often.....

The Irish Language is something that we all need to work on. We may never be completely fluent but we should be able to converse in a competent manner. Through classes, social media, and NET-ÉIRE our aim is to improve member’s basic understanding of the language in a relaxed environment. In the first number of issues of Net Éire we will transcribe in English but over time we will be offering both Irish & English transcripts of our publication.

  • Your Group to Give and Take What You Want.....

Irish people are known all over the world for their strength in battle, brains in building, caring in charity and pride in nationalism. You and I are the Irish of today and tomorrow and as a member of EFM you can help us to build an organisation to be proud of at home and abroad.

  • Social Interaction.....

Partake in our calendar of social activities and meet new people and gain new interests. Try new things, you might be surprised.

  • Business Rewards.....

EFM offers our members a growing network of businesses that will reward you for just being a member. Produce your card and receive their EFM Offer.

Ireland is a Country in difficult times with the economic crisis and bad news filling our newspapers and TV’s but it’s not all doom and gloom and we aim to focus on positive issues in every aspect of the organisation. We will always be looking forward at ways of bettering ourselves as members and the Country as a whole.
